What makes a dip
worth a closer look?

A dip is a drop in price. To find names worth studying, DipSignal looks at several clues together:

The price drop. How far has the price fallen? How close is it to a recent low?

Price strength, including RSI. RSI compares recent gains and losses. It helps us study how strong the recent price moves have been.

Trading volume. How much trading is taking place? Is it picking up or slowing down?

We also look for early signs that a price may be starting to turn up. These clues help shape the ranks and grades you see in the list.

Read the rank, then the grade.

The number shows where to start. We put closer matches nearer the top, with A-grade stocks first.

The letter and color show the grade at the time of the last update. Several names can share an A, B or C grade and still have different ranks.

For example, a stock at #8 with a B grade comes before one at #20 with a B grade. They share a watch grade, but have different places in the list.

Read the grade

  • A · Triggered

Green means a stronger match, with early signs of a possible turn.

  • B · Watch

Amber means a match worth watching for more signs of a turn.

  • C · Weak

Red means a weaker match to the signs we look for.

Even an A-grade stock can fall. Use the grade to guide your research.

Two approaches behind the list.

These groups come from two screening formulas we are building and testing. A screening formula checks price clues to find stocks for a closer look. Each approach looks for a different kind of dip.

Steady research looks for improving price strength. Speculative bounce looks at sharper drops and possible rebounds. Use the tabs to learn about each approach, then try its filter above.

A filter narrows the list. Each stock keeps its place and grade from the full list.

Look for improving price strength.

This group focuses on dips with signs that recent price moves are getting stronger. Use it to find names for a closer look at the chart and the business.

Prices can still fall. Check the grade and the latest news before you decide what to do next.

Explore a possible rebound.

A bounce is a rise after a fall. This group looks at stocks with sharp drops and signs of a possible rebound.

These prices may keep falling sharply. Look into the cause of the drop and the risks before you go further.

Take a closer look in three steps.

Once a name catches your eye, check when it was ranked, look at its chart and learn what is happening behind the price move.

1

Check the date

Start with the date above the table. It tells you how old the list is. Prices may have moved since then, so use the latest list before you compare names.

2

Look at the price chart

Choose a row to open its chart. Try 1D for one day, 1M for one month or 5Y for five years. Compare the recent drop with the longer trend. Chart prices may be delayed.

3

Find out what changed

Read the company’s news and reports to learn why the price fell. A drop can be brief or point to a bigger problem. Weigh what you find and how much you could lose before you act.

Go deeper into the names you find.

The list helps you find a lead. To learn why its price fell, you may need more facts about the company and the market around it.

Bring your research
into one place.

With DipSignal Plus, we want to help you connect a price move to the bigger picture: the company behind it and the market around it.

We are building tools that bring more of those facts together, so you can spend less time switching between sites and more time on your research.

Before you get started

A few common questions about the list and DipSignal Plus.

Does a high place mean I should buy?

A high rank gives you a name to research. Check why the price fell, read the company’s news and weigh the risk. Even an A-grade stock can fall further.

Why can the chart change before the list does?

The list ranks names at a set point in time. TradingView charts follow their own price updates, so a chart may show newer prices. Check the date above the table and use Refresh list to look for an update.

Will the leaderboard be free?

Yes. You can read the full list and open its charts for free. We plan to use ads to help cover costs. Plus will be an optional paid service for deeper research.

Will Plus give me better results?

Plus aims to give you more company and market data in one place. That can help you study a stock in more depth, but it cannot promise a profit. You still choose which risks to take.
